OUR CHURCH BUILDING
This page contains many photographs. Please be patient while they are loading. Thank you.
"But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience."
- Romans 8:25
In 1952 our current property at the southeast corner of Myrtle and Greeley Streets was purchased, and a parsonage was constructed upon it. The first worship building, the educational unit, was built in 1956. The stage and fellowship hall were used for Worship.
The sanctuary was constructed in 1960. It was designed by member Wendell Beardsley.
The parsonage was sold and moved to another site in 1988.
In 1991 a major addition was completed on the east side of the church building at a cost of $550,000.
The narthex is the entry to the church building. It also serves as the place for event registrations and fellowship. The door is the entry to the sanctuary.
Because the library faces south, it is a cozy place for reading or small meetings.
The latest addition to our church is this beautiful organ.
This window in the west choir loft commemorates the contributions of brothers John and Charles Wesley, the founders of Methodism. The rider and horse represent the Methodist circuit riders who preached in England and America.
This window symbolizes the Holy Sacraments: grapes, wheat and cup for Communion, and blue water for Baptism.
The dove descending toward earth represents the presence of God and the Holy Spirit in the world. The flames represent a variation of the United Methodist symbol, as well as the Holy Trinity.
This double window at the lower level entrance represents that Jesus taught us the purity of children that is associated with the kingdom of God, and accepting faith in God like a child is necessary for salvation.

The sanctuary is the place for Worship services and the Sacraments. With the two small alcoves for the choirs, it was designed to form the shape of the Cross as seen from above.
The contemporary chancel banner and the suspended empty Cross of Jesus are predominately featured at the front of the sanctuary.
This window in the east choir loft represents elements of Jesus' divinity and the foundation of His ministry.
The Greek letters alpha and omega symbolize that God is the beginning and the end of all things.
This design depicts Jesus as the lamb of God and his victory over the cross.
The outstretched hands and an open Bible represent the mission of the church is to preach the Word of God.
